Evergreens, with their strong shapes and dense foliage, provide four-season beauty and year-round privacy for outdoor living because there exists a wide range of evergreen sizes, shapes, colors, and textures, each characteristic should be taken into consideration when selecting specimens for your landscape. Most home properties have limited space for mature evergreen trees that can reach 40 to 50 feet high, or for those occupying 30 feet at the base, so selecting the right evergreen requires a considerable knowledge of individual plant characteristics.
